No one should have to fear being punished for seeking or providing reproductive care. As anti-abortion extremists in other states try to reach across our borders and threaten patients and providers, New York will continue to fight back.

Louisiana AG Liz Murrill fires back at blue-state governors who refused to extradite doctors accused of shipping abortion pills into ban states — filing two lawsuits that take aim at both the providers and the shield laws protecting them. Murrill, joined by the attorneys general of Alabama and Arkansas, sued New York, California and Massachusetts at the Supreme Court, alleging their shield laws block cooperation with criminal investigations. A separate 100-page complaint targets more than 30 people and organizations accused of advertising, prescribing and shipping abortion drugs into states where distribution is prohibited. New York Gov. Hochul declared there was "no way in hell" she'd comply with Louisiana's extradition request. California Gov. Newsom told Murrill to "go f*** yourself." Murrill's response: "I said specifically at the time that we would be coming for them and we are." I’m grateful to have the endorsement of @PPESVotesPAC. In the face of relentless federal attacks, we’ve made New York a safe haven for women’s rights, and reproductive freedom. But we know there’s more work to be done. We will always stand up for the residents of this state.
Nice try @KenPaxtonTX. I signed our shield law in 2022 because I knew states like Texas would target doctors for simply doing their job. New York will always fight to protect patients seeking reproductive care and those who provide it.
