Fires. Trains striking debris. Amtrak incidents in Penn Station's tunnels harm our entire regional transit system. For over a year, I've been demanding a plan from Amtrak to complete repairs without hurting commuters. Riders deserve better than a summer of delays and excuses.

For years I fought with @RepEspaillat to finally build the Second Avenue Subway. Now, with work underway, Donald Trump froze funding just to punish New Yorkers. We’re sending a message to the Trump Administration:  Restore the funding now. If you don't, we'll see you in court.
This year, we delivered big upgrades for Queens bus riders. Take a ride on the new and improved Q111 with me and @QnsBPRichards 🚍
Washington tried to stop Gateway. New York kept fighting. Now tunnel construction is underway because we believe in getting big things done.

Kathy Hochul and MTA boss Janno Lieber keep asking commuters to pay more while the agency's spending keeps rising and accountability keeps falling. New Yorkers deserve a transit system that works, not more excuses. When I am Governor, I will demand real reform and put riders first.

Hochul's Incompetence Puts the Safety of New Yorkers in Jeopardy

Governor Hochul's incompetence in handling labor relations from nurses to corrections officers and now railroad workers puts the safety of everyday New Yorkers in jeopardy. Blaming the LIRR strike on President Trump is so disingenuous it is laughable.

Blakeman: I’ll dip into $3.8B Hochul ‘slush fund’ to lower NY taxes

New Yorkers pay some of the highest fares and taxes in the country, and Hochul’s MTA still can't get the basics right. I am calling out Kathy Hochul and MTA boss Janno Lieber for the soaring spending and mismanagement that's draining your paycheck. Commuters deserve a system that works, not more excuses. When I am Governor, I will demand accountability at the MTA and put New Yorkers first.
Hundreds of thousands of Long Islanders woke up to chaos because Kathy Hochul failed to do her job. This strike didn't come out of nowhere — Hochul knew this deadline was coming and still allowed commuters, small businesses, nurses, teachers, and tourists to become collateral damage.

By boycotting the Israel Day on Fifth Parade, Zohran Mamdani has finally dropped the mask and shown his true colors of antisemitism. While Jewish New Yorkers are being terrorized in the streets and attacked by radicals waving the inverted red triangle—the same symbol Hamas uses to mark targets for execution—the sitting Mayor has chosen to side with them.

Hochul's Incompetence Puts the Safety of New Yorkers in Jeopardy

If a driver can't read road signs or communicate in English, they should not be behind the wheel of a bus or tractor-trailer. Sadly, Kathy Hochul lets it happen. In Nassau, I led the way on public safety. When I am Governor, I will make sure every driver on New York roads meets the standard.
Hochul's soft-on-crime agenda has allowed disorder to take over transit hubs, while Blakeman pledges enforcement and safe, functional facilities for travelers.

Kathy Hochul & Albany Democrats want to hit upstate drivers with a new $25 vehicle registration tax, congestion pricing beyond NYC. It’s wrong! Under Kathy Hochul, New Yorkers are already overtaxed. Now they want you to pay more just to drive. This is how it starts: one region, then statewide. As Governor, I’ll END congestion pricing on Day One and stop the tax hikes. Enough is enough.
You already paid for our public roads with your tax dollars, but now thanks to Kathy Hochul you have to pay just for the privilege of driving on them. On top of that, New Yorkers are paying 70% more for electricity because of Kathy Hochul’s energy mandates, fees, and taxes. New York sits on one of the largest natural gas reserves in the world, yet Hochul blocks local energy production and forces us to buy it from Pennsylvania. As Governor, I will cut energy taxes, repeal state surcharges, and tap into our natural resources to cut your utility bills in half.

Driving is about as American as it gets, and in New York, it’s gotten a lot more expensive. Since @KathyHochul became governor, the cost of driving in this state is up nearly 17%. Here’s where it’s coming from: Tolls: MTA bridge/tunnel tolls up 22%, NYS Thruway tolls up 5% (first hike since 2010), and a brand-new $9 congestion pricing charge just to drive into Manhattan Car insurance: average premiums up over 20% at their 2024 peak Parking: Manhattan meter rates up 20% Fuel: the one true wildcard, driven by global markets, though even here relief was temporary: the state gas tax cut lasted 7 months and was never brought back. Nearly every one of these, tolls, congestion pricing, Thruway rates, sits under decisions the Governor’s administration and the authorities she appoints directly control. Only fuel prices are genuinely outside her hands. New Yorkers are getting priced off their own roads. This isn’t sustainable.

The @MTA has turned into a runaway waste machine that is abusing New York taxpayers and riders every single day. Nearly $764 million has already been spent on overtime this year, which is $176 million over budget, while the agency faces budget gaps climbing into the hundreds of millions even as ridership falls, fare evasion spreads, fares rise, congestion pricing hits working families, and service keeps getting worse. This is pure reckless spending and mismanagement under @GovKathyHochul and MTA boss Janno Lieber. I am done watching riders and taxpayers get hammered. As comptroller I will audit every dollar, expose the mismanagement, and force real accountability at the MTA with no more blank checks. New Yorkers deserve a transit system that works instead of one that wastes their money and their time.

We won a court order permanently blocking the Trump administration from freezing federal grants for the Gateway Project. Despite the administration’s illegal and vindictive antics, Gateway has been moving forward, bringing union jobs and infrastructure upgrades to our region.

My office and @GovKathyHochul are suing the federal administration for withholding $73 million in highway funding. We won't let the president jeopardize our communities’ safety. https://www.nytimes.com/2026/04/24/nyregion/letitia-james-lawsuit-highway-funding.html
As a result of our court win, the remaining funding for the Gateway Program’s Hudson Tunnel Project has been released. Now we can keep this critical project moving. https://www.thecity.nyc/2026/02/18/gateway-construction-funding-trump-tunnel/

I see the conditions you are working in every day. You are on the frontlines of our public safety crisis — you spend every day dealing with the homeless, the mentally ill, the drug addicted, and the repeat offenders. It’s not fair and it’s not safe. I will prosecute transit crime, remove repeat and violent offenders from the transit systems, and stop fare evasion. Doing so will make the trains and buses safer for workers and riders.

The cavalry is coming, New York! Working families have had enough of skyrocketing costs, reckless spending, and Albany politicians putting themselves first. Bruce Blakeman is ready to lead the charge, and together, we can turn this state around. On November 3rd, New Yorkers have a choice. Four more years of the same, or a new direction for our state. It’s time to take New York back!

The insanity of our elected officials, on full display. On October 15, Mayor @ZohranKMamdani, @SenSchumer, @SenGillibrand, Leader @RepJeffries, nine New York members of Congress including @AOC and Jerry Nadler, and NYC Comptroller @MarkLevineNYC signed a letter urging private garage owners to deny space to federal law enforcement agents. Why? Because on October 8, federal agents tried to arrest Oscar Belgal in Marble Hill: a man with a grand larceny conviction, a pending felony drug-sale charge, and, according to DHS, ties to the Trinitarios gang. This year, federal prosecutors charged the gang's "Bad Boys 7" crew in a carjacking murder on the Cross County Parkway and a Bronx killing. DHS says Belgal was a target of the investigation into last year's shooting of a CBP officer, and @SecMullinDHS says he has "either indirect or direct knowledge" of it. DHS also says he rammed agents' vehicles trying to flee. This wasn't the cook at your local restaurant. How does shielding him make New York safer? Instead of asking why a man with a federal immigration detainer was back on our streets, these officials went after Target because agents parked in a lot it co-owns. This is intimidation, and it puts every business owner in this city in an impossible position. Someone should remind these elected officials that knowingly concealing or shielding someone from federal authorities is a federal crime, punishable by up to five years in prison. How do these people keep getting elected?

Great people, rich history, and some of the best apple fritters I’ve ever had! Had a fantastic time at the Town of Clay Historical Festival in Onondaga County with @BullerforNY, @kelly4assembly, and Kevin Meaker. It’s communities like Clay, where neighbors come together and local traditions are kept alive, that make Upstate New York so special!

.@TomDiNapoli just sent Anthropic, possibly the most transformative company of our generation, a public letter demanding it rewrite its ownership structure before it even goes public. Founder-led structures like this are how Google and Meta were built. They are also why New York's pension fund made fortunes holding those stocks. DiNapoli has been Comptroller for nearly 20 years. Instead of asking how New York can share in the AI economy, he's lecturing its builders and posting about it. That's the problem with Albany. From DiNapoli to @GovKathyHochul , New York keeps sending the AI industry the same message: you're a risk to be managed, not a partner to be recruited. Meanwhile, the jobs, the capital, and the tax base are going elsewhere. I've built 12 companies and taken 5 public. I know how founders think and where they choose to grow. As Comptroller, I'll invest smartly in the companies shaping the next century. I'll hold them accountable through engagement, not press releases. And I'll fight to bring them and their ecosystems here. Our kids shouldn't have to leave New York to find the jobs of the future.

.@AnthropicAI is planning to enter the public markets as a company whose decisions reach far beyond its own success, while proposing to diminish the rights of the very shareholders who will fund it. Shareholder accountability is how risks get surfaced before they become crises. Read my letter urging them to reconsider: https://on.ny.gov/4jYE3kq
In @KathyHochul’s New York, you pay more and she takes more. Since Hochul took office… Electricity is up 48%. Gas is up 39%. Rent is up 25%. And Albany is now collecting 45% more in state taxes than when she started. New York families are getting squeezed from every direction while Albany rakes in more of your money than ever. And @TomDiNapoli, the watchdog paid to guard it, has looked the other way for nearly 20 years. Hochul spends and DiNapoli shrugs. You pay. New Yorkers need relief, not more excuses. As Comptroller, I'll follow every dollar.

Protecting the pension fund isn't just about numbers, it's about honoring the 535,000 New York retirees who dedicated their lives, missed milestones, and served our state with distinction. We have a solemn fiduciary duty to make sure our retirees have the secure retirement they earned. As your next Comptroller, I intend to keep that promise.

You know what's worse than a rotten apple? An expensive rotten apple. 🍎 Since @KathyHochul became governor, food prices have jumped nearly 25%, and even the price of an apple is up 11%. It's time for cheaper apples.

While @ZohranKMamdani and I are working to lower costs and deliver for New York families, one bad MAGA apple is trying to spoil the entire bunch.
Your power bill has exploded under @KathyHochul. Since 2021, delivery charges on the average NYC Con Ed bill are up 40%. That's $37 more every month. The electricity you actually use? Just 35% of your bill. The other 65% is delivery, surcharges, mandates and taxes. NYSERDA sits on $2 billion in unspent ratepayer money. @TomDiNapoli’s own audit found its electric efficiency programs hit just 33% of their goal. He wrote a report. Your bill kept climbing. As Comptroller, I'll audit every ratepayer dollar, demand unspent surcharges be returned to you, and publish every state charge on your bill. It's your money. I will get it back.

Last night at the debate, @NassauExec Bruce Blakeman didn’t just make his case; he dismantled the excuses that have defined Albany for far too long. New Yorkers deserve safe streets, an affordable place to raise their families, and a governor with the backbone to put them first. Bruce Blakeman is that leader and @KathyHochul is not.

Small business owners across New York are being crushed by skyrocketing utility bills, rising insurance costs, and the growing cost of doing business. Our bodegas and small businesses are the backbone of our communities, yet Albany continues to make it harder for them to survive. We need to lower costs, cut red tape, and make New York a place where small businesses can thrive.
