The Trump Administration is rolling back 30 firearm restrictions, including weakening background checks and making it easier to buy guns online. They picked a fight with the wrong state. New York will keep enforcing our nation-leading gun laws, keep firearms out of the hands of dangerous people, and protect our communities.

I have a message for those who are creating homemade killing machines, illegal machine guns and 3D-printed ghost guns: Not in the State of New York. Not on my watch.
These illegal gun switches may be small, but they can turn a handgun into a weapon that fires dozens of rounds in seconds. They have no place in our communities. Now is the time for New York to act.

Proud to be named a @MomsDemand Gun Sense Candidate. All gun violence is senseless, every shooting victim is a policy failure. As NYS Comptroller, I’ll continue fighting against gun manufacturers, for safer communities, and accountability that protects families across our state.

Tom is fighting back against extremists who want to roll back women’s rights, attack the foundations of our democracy and threaten New York’s fiscal health. We need to protect the environment, support common sense gun safety reforms and impactful policies to make our streets, subways and homes safe.

Today, @QueensDAKatz, @NYPDnews, and my office recovered 124 guns, including over 50 semi-automatic and assault weapons, at our gun buyback event in Queens. Thanks to our partners in law enforcement for helping us get weapons out of our communities and keeping New Yorkers safe.

I’m grateful for the work of the @NYPDnews to get this individual off our streets. I’m thinking of Jaden Pierre’s family today, as I have every day since this tragedy. We will keep working to end senseless gun violence in New York.

The post it quotes, by @NYPDPC

NYPD detectives assigned to the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force have arrested Zahir Davis for the senseless murder of 15-year-old Jaden Pierre in a park in Queens last week. Davis fled to Jamaica following the shooting and was arrested immediately when he landed back in NYC last night.
Garnell Whitfield, the former Fire Commissioner for Buffalo, lost his mother Ruth in the racist and tragic shooting at Tops in Buffalo. This month, we held Means Arms accountable for their role in the shooting at Tops.  Mr. Whitfield shared his story with us.

As a mother of four, I want the same thing every New York family wants: to know our loved ones are safe.  That’s why I’m running for Attorney General.

Kelly served as NYPD Commissioner under Mayors David Dinkins and Michael Bloomberg and is described in the report as the longest-serving police commissioner in New York City history. He said Komatireddy “has the experience, judgment, and determination to lead the Attorney General's Office,” and added that New Yorkers deserve an attorney general who understands law enforcement and keeps communities safe.

I joined families in Staten Island for a roundtable on the Victims of Fentanyl.  Thousands of New Yorkers lose their lives every year to drug poisonings, and fentanyl is involved in about 70% of those deaths.  As a federal prosecutor and DEA Chief of Staff, I went after the whole fentanyl supply chain, from the Mexican cartel bosses to the Mexican government officials who allowed them to operate to the Chinese chemical companies who supplied the cartels with the ingredients for fentanyl.  As Attorney General, I will take on the fentanyl threat, use the Organized Crime Task Force to pursue and prosecute cross-border smuggling rings, and use the resources of the office to increase public education so that we can prevent sons and daughters from falling victim to this poison.  Thank you Michael, Donna, and Carmine DiTomasso for opening your home and sharing Joseph’s story.

In Queensbury, talking about the rising costs straining New York families.  As Attorney General, I’ll crack down on fraud and hold scammers accountable, because New Yorkers deserve to keep more of their hard-earned money. When we prosecute crime and fraud, we’ll end the Crime Tax.  #JustFightCrime #CrimeTax

Antisemitism is hate. Hate crimes demand accountability. New Yorkers deserve an Attorney General who will take action against hate crimes.
